"3D projection mapping for architecture is not just a fad. It is a profound paradigm shift, where content becomes lighting, and lighting becomes content." -- Philippe Bergeron
For permanent installations, 3D projection mapping should be incorporated in the design phase. This will prevent costly mistakes related to obstruction, light pollution, audience POV's, projector locations, focal issues, and building material.
PaintScaping has vast experience in large-scale 3D mapping, from the 11-stories-high mapping at the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale, to the 8-walls-in-sync at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas, or the 180-feet wide mapping on the historic Palais Montcalm in Québec City. In 2011, PaintScaping closed the annual AH&LA meeting ("American Hotel & Lodging Association"), the top lobby group for the lodging industry in Washington, DC, with a 7-minute extravaganza.
