Detroit Auto Show

VR powerhouse JauntVR hired PaintScaping as a 3D mapping consultant to recreate a VR experience in the real world. JauntVR's activation was created for Kia at the 2018 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit, one of the largest auto shows in the world.

JauntVR shot 8k footage, from the driver's POV, in Big Sur and South of France. PaintScaping then re-projected the footage onto a 3D cube model, and modeled all virtual cameras representing the projectors. The audience could then re-live the driver's experience, in a trade show booth, instead of VR goggles.

To combat huge ambient light at trade shows, we used 5 Barco 30k projectors.
